Film Stock Notes
There are so many different stocks out there I haven't tried
Personally I prefer to scan myself. I feel like its as much part of the creative process and find it an enjoyable thing to do (though often people don't).
My workflow will change as I learn more about the process and software, there is as much for me to learn and improve with this process as well.
Ilford HP5+ – 120
I mean this film is a go-to for many black and white photographers. For me though it really started to shine when I pushed it to 800 ISO - that added amount of contrast was exactly what I was after. Will certainly be a go-to film for me.
Kodak Gold 200 – 120
I love this film. I know Portra is the most talked about film but to be honest I think on a sunny day I would quite happily reach for this first. I love the colours, the level of grain – it just performs well for me. That its a bit cheaper is also a bonus...
