Photographers That Inspire Me

Here are some of the photographers who I love when I see their latest posts appear, and I would hope to one day match with the quality of my own work.

Vic Campbell - Digital

I'm lucky enough to call Vic one of my closest friends, and my first guide through the world of photography. I instantly loved her passion, style and subject matter, and seeing her work was one of the things that inspired me to start photography in the first place.

Unfortunately with her being based in Minnesota I don't get to see her as much as I would like, but one of my favourite things is getting to see what she's seen through her work. I would highly recommend you check out her portfolio and give her a follow.

North West Film Photo Discord

This is a call out for the entire group on this Discord. I have been a part of the group for the last few months and it has been amazing for my confidence and improvement as a film photographer.

I've been posting photographs into the ether for a while sure, but this is the first time I've joined a smaller scale more local community and I couldn't recommend it more if I tried (even if not this one). It is just so much more conversational then my experience of social networks.

Everyone in the Discord is so helpful, knowledgable and generous with time – providing help, critique and support. I also joined a photowalk and competiton they organised which was so much fun and inspirational.

Jade Stephens - Film

Just look at Jade's work and tell me you don't feel equal parts inspired and jealous.

I'm definitely going to get a print of her work on my wall at some point. I love the colours, the subject matter and living vicariously through her adventures. I don't think my knees could take some of the treks she has undertaken though.

Ben Lockett - Film

Eerie, beautiful, haunting, intriguing.

These are some of the words I think of when looking at Ben's work. I would love to see how he sets up his 5x4 camera for these shots.

I came across Ben's work on the North West Film Photo Discord, and his distinctive style caught my eye immediately. One day I would love to actually see his 5x4 camera – I've seen photos of some of his lenses and they are beautiful just by themselves!

El Dunlop - Digital

If you look forward to autumn every year for those tones so connected with the season, or love wildlife, then El Dunlop is someone you should seriously make time for to look at her work.

Born in Australia but now living in the UK, she has seen and recorded more of British wildlife then I have in my 33 years here. I never tire of seeing the beauty of the wildlife that I could, and should, be able to see. It inspires me to get out there more and do it myself.
