Marks on Trees - Ongoing Project
This is my first attempt at creating a photography project...
I want to explore the ways in which their environment takes effect on trees, the lasting 'scars', and how this reflects on ourselves as people.
This is still an ongoing project that I am exploring so expect it to change and grow over time.

Trapped;
Overwhelmed;
Smothered;
Supporting others;
Nurturing life;
Dedication;
Paths blocked;
Putting up barriers;
We can all relate to how these feelings and events have left their tell-tale signs on ourselves or people in our lives.

Often in nature things recover fully, without any effects of previous events left to be seen. With trees though you can see these marks for many years to come – even if faded.
The more you pay attention, the more you will notice the ways that human intervention has altered the path of their growth – sometimes literally.

I would like to explore this further with its conclusion resulting in a self-made Zine, probably my first. Hopefully not last.

I think black and white will be the perfect medium for this project in the way it removes attention from the overall environment – so that will be my focus.
